Two years ago, after my son was born, I began researching food maniacally, wanting desperately to make wise choices and to set for our family a way of eating that was nourishing, delicious, and being that I was a new mom, not overly complicated. While I felt that we had always had a good diet, I wanted great. My grandmother gave me a copy of Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon and I was inspired. I have begun creating recipes that are specific to our family’s tastes and food philosophy. This blog is a place for me to document our food journey and the recipes we make along the way.

I believe in real food. Hand-gathered eggs with orange yokes, yellow pastured butter, organic beans, kale, and spinach, roasted beets, and sourdough bread are all regulars at our family table. Food is a cause for togetherness, food is a source of well-being, and food is a journey. This blog is to document my food journey. I hope that any who read here and make these recipes find that they want to share them with loved ones, that they feel great after eating them and that they have greater fuel for their own journey. Dig in!
